Ghajini – Movie Review

Ghajini – Movie Review

After a long time I watched movie in theater. Anil booked the ticket of late night show at PVR Select City Walk Saket. I was little tired after my office so took a little rest, and then reached at 10:00 PM for the show at 10:40 PM. We knew Ghajini for last 6 month, the most awaited movie of AAMIR KHAN. It is the remake of a south Indian movie. We all had lot of expectation from it. Now, Aamir is also a muscular man.

Stars (out of *****) Over all – a little less than ***

Story **

Acting ****

Direction **

Songs **

Differentiator **

Commercial *****

Story: It’s a very common story, similar to more than 1000s of Hindi and Indian language movies. Only new concept is to remember only for 15 minutes by Aamir Khan. We expected some twist in the story, as thriller. But it goes without any changes one can expect in typical Hindi movie. Love story was good for revenge.

Acting: Cheers to Asin!!! She has done an exceptional job. Aamir’s presence could not shadow her acting talent. Out 4 stars 3 for her only. Aamir is perfectionist so no doubt.

Direction: The Director could not leave the south Indian style and masala actions. He could have done it better. If there have been some changes in the story and cut the flop actions, then it could have been a class movie. Till the love story movie was good, but as revenge part come, its looks like C grade movie. Aamir has delivered good performance, but due to lack of meaningful action thriller, it is not class revenge. It’s good for common viewer in India. In metro I have seen people slept at their sit.

Songs: Out of 5 songs 2 we can listen. Music is not up to mark.

Differentiator: No more differentiator to Hindi common movies. Issue is there but no solution. No comparison with Taare Zammen Par or other Amir Khan’s movies

Commercial: It’s a great commercial movie. It is going to be one of the biggest hit in India. You may ask me that you say movie is not very good and a commercial hit. Yes, it has all the emotional and action drama, what public want. Aamir delivered a movie, like Sharukh Khan’s commercial hit. Superman type actions from Aamir, Love story the heart of Indian movie, Female child prostitution issue – most sensible issue, Aamir the brand name, Innocent Aasin (Kalpana – Ideal dream match for every Indian). 100% commercial ingredients in this recipe, so I will suggest to test once, at least better than Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.

Dowry I have no answer….

Dowry is one of the crimes against women. We all are trying to find various solution for this problem, but could not see any result. Rather it is growing day to day. Read more details on my blog www.kaifeeanwer.wordpress.com

I and my friends are all set to get married in next 2-3 years. By God’s grace we all are established. Till few years back, all were against dowry. But now situation is little different.

Almost we all have younger sisters, for which dowry is demanded. So, few friends have planned to take dowry to compensate his sister’s dowry.

Few friends, who have no sister, need not dowry. But looking for a working girl, so that he can have financial support through out his life.

I analyzed that at last nobody hates dowry system (except few). They have accepted it as a part of society.

Let me discuss about female friends who are set to get married in next 2 years. They are facing more problems than boys. Even after well education and job they are ready to offer Dowry as a social system. Still their difficulties in finding the suitable boy have become a sob story.

The above example I have given to understand the problems with the women in INDIA. If well educated females are in problem then what about rest of the population. Our society leaves no option except to suicide for women.

I agree with the reasons given by you all. Women are responsible for it up to some extent and social status. My opinion is little different. I have lot to discuss on this topic. Because I have seen it from my childhood – starting from my family – relatives – neighbors – district level – national level and last experience with my close friends who are looking for bride.

Please don’t worry I am not going to write thesis on this topic here. But sure we can discuss some specific solutions with supportive reasons.

1. I am going to start from Indian Education System. We have medical, Engineering, MBA etc colleges, But no college to discuss Human Engineering. How the problems can be solved? We don’t award for the innovative ideas to solve the human problems. We never discuss how much we have lost due to social problems. Our economic system never counts the profit or loss due to corruption and crimes. This is the reason India is one of the poorest country in terms of Human Value Index in world. We are celebrating on Ambani Brothers, TATA, BIRLA and Mittal’s daughter marriage ceremony in London. Every Page 3 is full of marriage jewelry, having full coverage of MONEY.

2. No time for next today, so I directly come to point.

All Boys says “I will not ask for dowry, if somebody offers then I will not deny”

This is the sentence which is the root cause of dowry system (I feel). Until and unless boys take tough decision and fight against PARENT and society against dowry and say “Strictly NO to dowry”, the crime against women will not come to end easily. Boys are more responsible for this crime. They want the best girl with best dowry. They close their lips, at the time of taking dowry. This is true that if a crime is in society then everybody is responsible for it up to some extent (Directly or indirectly). But here in our society the boy who is going to get married has power not to demand or accept dowry. Today women should also take this step, as they are aware.

But the present scenario is has been very complex. As a boy get a good job, bombarded with the dowry offers (bride is secondary). My some friends have recently joined Government Officer Post. They always say me the offers they have 20 – 30 lacs, but no discussion about the girl. Marriage has become business. I have attended more than 500 marriage ceremony, but have never discussed on reception. My all courage diminishes there. I have given speeches on this topic, but never discussed it on the real situation. Did I never try? No I have tried, but why I failed.

When you ask the boy side, he has the excuse.” I have not demanded, if they offer I can’t hurt them”. Girl side says “Did you find a better boy who will marry my daughter, without dowry, Even if you can, can you guarantee me every thing will go on track after marriage”. I used to say them “I will marry, without dowry”. They asked ” O.k., we believe you can, But can you arrange your sister’s marriage without dowry”. I have no answer.  Why? I will discuss later…..

I invite you all; please advise the solutions for this problem. Also how it can be implemented?

  1. Jobs: – Will jobs to women will minimize the dowry system
  2. Education: – How education has helped to prevent this problem.
  3. Love Marriage: – Will it help?
  4. Freedom to choose life partner: -
  5. Extremely strict laws against dowry: –
  6. Social Awareness: –
  7. Women Empowerment: –
  8. Promote by Religious, Social, Political leaders, Media: –
  9. Dowry should be propagated a crime like rap.
  10. Every marriage should abide by rules to check on it. Parameter should be defined. Like GIFTS should not be allowed.

There are more solutions you can suggest.

Don’t Say Me “AUNTIE”

Before writing I want to say all to women, please don’t take is as any offense to your sentiments.

All men are warned not say Auntie to any woman EXCEPT she is her real auntie. This is the word, which is supposed to be one of the offensive words, if you address to any woman. Before addressing it, carefully see the woman. If she is more than 50, then it may be permissible. In metro’s men knowingly annoy women, by saying AUNTIE to those who are even younger to them. Some time I saw in buses, shops and markets, hot argument on this issue.

Reaction of women can be dangerous. It really hurts them. They feel better, if you address Bhabhi, Didi or Madam. Auntie makes them feel older. Who don’t knows women always like to be seen younger.  A lot of time they know, the guys are flirting. But they want to listen it especially if you praise about her.

Now come to some interesting and funny situations, derived from “Don’t say me Auntie”.

Suppose Government put rule, that saying Auntie to the woman, who deserve Bhabhi or Didi is punishable like smoking at public place. What will be the guidelines to set these rules? Should women organizations raise voice against it?  What is your opinion?

Hey I got a good idea to make an album (video) title – “Don’t say me Auntie”. Lead dancer – Rakhi Sawant in Saree and all older women from Kitty parties. Video will be full of comedy actions. It will be a hit sure.

Vulgur Bhojpuri Song – Gaining Popularity

This article is in the response comment to article by http://abhayart.wordpress.com/2008/10/14/i-am-afraid-of-it/#comments

Every body is afraid of the vulgar Bhojpuri local songs popularity in Bihar. This is not only going to ruin the culture. But it pollutes the young minds. Absolutely we are getting affected from it. I am surprised India has no sensor board for it. Earlier days this kind of music was limited to certain group. They were played only on few days like Holi or Nautangi dances. The purpose was only to refresh or entertainment. But its presence is everywhere.

Western countries have all the dirty lyrics and videos in their albums. They are acceptable according to their culture. But in India we can’t see our sister and mother naked dancing with gigolos. Although we have accepted many culture customs of west, but it has certain limitations.

The electronic media has given a good platform to spread these songs. We can say it is one of the negative uses of media. Bhojpuri language is on most popular language in Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh. There is no harm if we spread our culture. Recently launched TV channel MAHUWA has gain tremendous popularity. This is good for this poor area. It will generate various sources of employment.

The local Vulger Bhojpuri audio and video songs are very popular. I also have enjoyed it sometime but just for entertainment. I said earlier about certain limitations which our culture has, should be maintained. It should not be made public.

There may be many solutions for this problem.

1.      Employment: – Employee the local singers in sponsored channels. Give them money and promote for composing good music with a view to trap global audience. Like we don’t understand many French, Italian and Arabic song, but still listen because of their good music.

2.      Sensor Board : – This may be a tough decision initially, but can be done with a good plan

    Skillfull Child- Tyre Puncturewala

It was 8 AM in the morning, I was driving my bike with full speed in outer ring road. When i was near Modimill, Front tyre of my bike got punctured. Still I drive the bike till Batla House. I found a roadside tyre puncturewala. But he was abscent. Then I went to next one. Here again the owner was abscent. I saw a small child there. I asked him when they will come, I need to stitch the puncture.

He replied ” Main Hoon Na “. I told ” Beta wow to mujhe dikahai de raha hai ke tum ho, lekin mujhe pucture banana hai. He replied with confidence” Uncle Bike to le Aao, Main hi pucture banata hoon “.

The child was looking 7-8 year old only, physically 15-20 Kg, thin child, innocent face – I was surprised how he can do it ? But he again insisted me to take my bike from the first tyre pucturewal. I did not want, But no option. Let him try.

His first question ” Uncle Bike kahan se khinch ke la rahe ho, Agar tube cut gayi ho to mujhe mat bolna, aapke saane kholne ja raha hoon “. He took his instruments, within a minute took out the front wheel from my bike. I was amazed – How skillfully he did it. Now the toughest part is to take out the tube from tyre. He is master child, did the job in efficient manner. Less effort and best result. Till now my all doubts on this child was clear.

His anticipation was correct, my tube has been cut. New tube was required. As I marketing proffessional, I planned to negotiate with the child. He bring a new tube, I asked the price. Rs. 190. I was shocked. Took the packet from him, saw the MRP. Rs. 174. I cried over him, Don’t you see the MRP. He replied with confidence, 20 rupee lagane ke nahi doge kya, Itti to majdoori banti hai.

I asked him for local tubes, without wasting a moment he replied in a tough voice ” yahi hai lana hai to batao ” I had no option. We fixed at Rs. 185. Then i could see the energy in his face. He fit the tube and tyre in 3-4 minutes.

I paid him Rs. 190, Extra 5 bucks for his skills “technical as well marketing”.

He could have given me a local tube at 100 rupees, But he knew that tyre is open now I have no option. I learned marketing from him. So its experience in the job matters more than education.
